PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION:
Originally from Santa Rosa, California, she earned an undergraduate degree from University of California-Davis and a medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. She completed residency in internal medicine at University of Arizona in Tucson. She also was a fellow in hematology and oncology at the Arizona Cancer Center. Previously, she was a research assistant at Calgene Inc. Biotechnology Co. in Davis, California, and a research intern at New York Medical College. She was also a research assistant for one month in the Laboratory of Dan Von Hoff, M.D., while a resident at the University of Arizona.
